JOHNNY THUNDERS & the HEARTBREAKERS

'L. A. M. F. - the lost '77 mixes' (Like A Mother-Fucker)

Jungle are pleased to announce the release of newly-discovered, excellent mixes from 1977 of the classic 'L.A.M.F' album, to be issued on CD, cassette and gatefold-sleeved vinyl co-inciding with Johnny's birthday (he would have been 42 on July 15th).

'L.A.M.F.' was originally released on Track Records in 1977 after six months in London's top studios - but arguments about the mixing compounded by a severe mastering fault led to the band splitting up and all-round disappointment. In 1984 Johnny took 3 nights over a remix for a re-issue, ridding the recordings of the mud but not spending the time to achieve full clarity and refinement. Now Jungle have trawled through the hours of tapes from the original 1977 sessions, found long-lost excellent mixes plus a previously unheard Jerry Nolan song and (together with some of Johnny's musical colleagues and friends) selected the best for this definitive re-issue. Repackaged in the original artwork, with comprehensive sleeve-notes by Thunders' biographer Nina Antonia, at last 'L.A.M.F.' (Like A Mother-Fucker) can now for the very first time be heard the way it should sound.

Track-list: Born To Lose / Baby Talk / All By Myself / I Wanna Be Loved / It's Not Enough / Chinese Rocks / Get Off The Phone / Pirate Love / One Track Mind / I Love You / Goin' Steady / Let Go / (+ extra tracks to original): Can't Keep My Eyes On You / Do You Love Me.

* A tribute album is out on Castle feat. The Ramones, Willy De Ville, Los Lobos, Mike Monroe, Patti Palladin, Wayne Kramer, ex-Dolls, ex-Heartbreakers, ex-Pistols etc. * Guns & Roses have introduced Johnny to their huge audience by covering two of his songs on their latest single & album... quoting "L- A- M- F.... " at the end of 'Memory'. * A New York Dolls compilation 'Rock'n'Roll' is out on Mercury; all adding to a growing interest in Johnny Thunders' legacy as a highly influential, seminal rock personality.
